New Year´s resolutions

Draw, draw, draw....did I mention draw? Now seriously: I spent 2012 practicing gesture drawing heavily, trying to make it a habit. This will remain during 2013, but I aim to increase the load on finished pieces.
Earlier today I was reading Walt Stanchfield Lectures volume II and stepped into the following Sanskrit poem related to this new year´s resolutions we all do by the end of the year and forget during January:

Look to this day
for it is life
the very life of life
In its brief course lie all
the realities and truths
of existence.
The joy of growth
the splendor of action
the glory of power
For yesterday is
but a memory
And tomorrow is
only a vision
But today well lived
makes every yesterday
a memory of happiness
and tomorrow a vision
of hope
Look well, therefore,
to this day!

Have a great 2013:)

Memory Lane

This is a wedding gift commission for a Canadian customer. The original idea was to depict several places and important dates which were part of their lives until the wedding date.
After a lot of sketches and ideas, we reached an interesting result. Bellow is the final painting.

Dream a little dream of me...

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper ‘I love you?
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me...
