Memory Lane

This is a wedding gift commission for a Canadian customer. The original idea was to depict several places and important dates which were part of their lives until the wedding date.

After a lot of sketches and ideas, we reached an interesting result. Bellow is the final painting.

This piece executed back in 2005, named "Mary praying for the darkness-haunted world", was inspired by the classical religious concept of Holy Mary praying for us all and portrays 4 personalities that changed our world in various ways during the 20th century.

Art From the Heart For Haiti Exhibition 2010

Mimosa Gallery in Saratoga-NY, is running a show to raise funds for Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, to support recovery efforts for Haiti.

I was lucky to participate on this effort, thanks to gallery owner Michelle Lalonde.

Work in Progress with Watercolors

This painting is a result from a online workshop taken on WetCanvas, under the figure channel (link here).

The workshop´s objective was to create a fair decent figure painting based on photographies provided by channel moderator, so artists could represent them using their media of choice. Very nice works under these workshops in a great amount of techniques explained.

This is my attempt with watercolors. Bellow you will find my step by step process.

Soaked with water, streched on mdf board, taped.

First color wash, with salt added to create background random textures

Several layers of watercolor added from clearer to darker colors.
